Scan-and-interpret upload mode
Photograph your existing hand-drawn paper chart. EquiSketch validates scan quality (light, skew, completeness) and sends the image to a vision LLM. You get FEI-vocabulary descriptions back in seconds.
EquiSketch isn't a generic form-builder bolted onto a horse picture. It's purpose-built for the workflow Irish vets actually do — from the yard, to the laptop, to the Passport Issuing Organisation's inbox.
Designed for the realities of the yard, the lorry-park and the dispensary.

Draw markings directly on a horse silhouette with stylus or finger — pressure-sensitive, red for white markings, black for whorls/spots/scars per FEI conventions. Undo / redo / eraser / line-weight.
Tap one button to interpret your drawing into a structured description per anatomical region. No flaky real-time streaming; predictable cost and latency.
Review the AI's text per region with per-field confidence chips. Edit any line. Capture your stylus signature. Accept — the chart is filed and versioned.
FEI rules embedded in the prompt. Anatomically aware. Vocabulary-locked.
Anthropic Claude Sonnet 4.5 (with Opus 4.5 / Haiku 4.5 options) reads the chart and outputs structured JSON with eight anatomical regions plus per-field and overall confidence scores.
Prefer OpenAI GPT-5.2 or Google Gemini 3? Add your own Anthropic, OpenAI or Gemini API key in Settings — EquiSketch uses your key in preference and bills you nothing extra for tokens.
The prompt embeds the FEI standards: star / stripe / blaze / snip / flesh-mark, whorl types, anatomical limb terms (no 'sock' or 'stocking'), Prophet's Thumb, zebra marks, brands.
Each field gets a 0–100 confidence chip — green ≥90%, yellow ≥70%, red <70%. The overall banner tells you whether to skim, review carefully, or re-scan.
Built so PIOs trust the records and inspectors find them.
A snapshot of every accepted chart is stored alongside who edited what. You can answer 'who changed this and when' instantly.
Login, view, edit, accept, download, PIO search — every action writes an audit entry with IP, user-agent and details. Admins filter by action type.
Four roles: Vet, PIO, Practice Admin, System Admin. Strict tenant isolation — PIOs only ever see their own chart type, vets only their own charts.
Passwords are bcrypt-12. Sensitive PII like microchip numbers are encrypted at rest. Refresh tokens live in httpOnly cookies, access tokens are short-lived.
Optimised for the iPad in your hand at 7am, the laptop at 9pm.
Apple Pencil and Wacom-class styluses are pressure-mapped to line width. Touch-only fallback for finger drawing in a pinch.
Upload your stamp once. Sign each chart with the stylus. Stamp, signature, date, vet number and reg number auto-populate every chart you accept.
HSI, Weatherbys, Connemara P.B.S., Leisure Horse Ireland, Irish Warmblood (WSI), Irish Harness Racing Association — all wired in, configurable templates.
Every accepted chart renders to an A4 print-ready layout — silhouette, descriptions, metadata, stamp, signature. Ctrl/Cmd-P → Save as PDF for paper backup.
PIOs receive a clean, scoped, audit-trailed retrieval experience.
Type the chip — partial matches return matching charts of your chart type only. No risk of cross-PIO leakage.
PIOs can view and download accepted charts. They cannot edit, comment, or modify — keeping the vet's record canonical.
Every PIO search, view, and download is logged with user, IP, and timestamp — both for your compliance, and theirs.
PIO accounts are never self-registered. The system admin provisions each PIO and scopes them to their chart_type.
Modular from day one — built to grow with the practice and the standards.
Every feature in the spec is tracked on an in-app kanban with state (Done / Partial / Not started / Blocked) and admin notes. Transparency built in.
When an image is rejected for quality, the failure reason is logged. Roadmap: an admin dashboard surfacing trends to drive practice training.
Swap vision providers without touching application code. Today: Claude / OpenAI / Gemini. Tomorrow: whatever's the best fit for equine vision.
Files (stamps, sources, canvas snapshots, signatures) live behind a storage service. Move from local disk to S3 / Azure Blob without code changes.
Accept any chart and tap Vetting report → Draft. The AI writes a structured identification & examination note in your letterhead, using your registration and practice details, with severity-adapted clinical comments. You edit, finalise, print or PDF.
Upload one or two previous reports. EquiSketch fingerprints your house style, headings, sign-off language and table layouts.
A 6-year-old sound gelding gets routine wording. A subtle hindquarter atrophy gets a precise, qualified clinical note.
Export to the format your client expects — or auto-attach the signed PDF to the PIO submission email.
Every draft and edit is versioned and signable, just like the chart itself. Defensible in dispute.
We're piloting the Vetting Report Drafter with three Irish practices in Q3 2026. Practices on the Clinic and Enterprise tier get first access at no additional charge. Request a pilot slot →
